What is the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)?
The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a five-year, multiple-entry Thai visa that lets remote workers and their families stay up to 180 days per entry, extendable once by a further 180 days. Introduced in 2024, it is for people with foreign income or who join Thai "soft power" activities such as Muay Thai or cooking courses. It does not permit working for a Thai employer.
How do you apply for a DTV visa?
You apply for the DTV from outside Thailand, through the official Thai e-Visa portal (thaievisa.go.th) or a Thai embassy, with a passport, photo, proof of funds and evidence of remote work or a qualifying soft-power activity.
