The account must also be in your own name exactly as it appears in your passport — a business account in your company name will not pass.

There is no official published processing time, and it varies materially between missions — which is why you will see wildly different claims online, sometimes on different pages of the same firm. We give you a realistic estimate for your specific embassy during your assessment rather than quoting an average that may not apply to you.

You may work remotely for employers and clients outside Thailand. You may not take employment with a Thai company or perform work for the Thai market — that requires a work permit, which the DTV does not confer.

Yes. A legal spouse and unmarried children under 20 may apply as dependents. Each files a separate application, and generally only after the primary applicant has been approved. We coordinate the whole family together for $199 per dependent.

Usually not. Thai banks have increasingly classified DTV holders alongside tourists for account-opening purposes, and some have closed existing accounts on discovering the visa type. Plan your banking accordingly — we will walk you through the practical options.

Spending 180 days or more in Thailand within a calendar year makes you a Thai tax resident, which can bring foreign-sourced income remitted into Thailand within scope. Because the DTV permits long stays, this catches people out. We flag it during your assessment, though we are visa specialists — take tax advice from a qualified Thai accountant.

Missions generally expect a programme of six months or longer from a registered provider, and they do verify the provider. A weekend course or an unregistered gym will not support an application. Note that Thai language schools no longer qualify under this category at all.

Our professional fee is not refundable — you are paying for the preparation work, which is done either way, and no consultant can control the mission’s decision. Government fees are paid directly to the embassy and are not refundable by anyone. On Premium, one re-submission is covered if the mission simply asks for additional documents, which is the most common outcome short of approval. This is exactly why we assess your eligibility honestly before taking you on: it is far better to find out you will be refused before you spend anything than to argue about refunds afterwards.
